This chapter builds on the author's research from her unpublished PhD thesis, 'Naming the world': a relational approach to cultural indicators and socially engaged arts (2012), and her 2010 discussion paper 'The menace of measurement: a discussion about arts indicators', commissioned by the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance in Saskatchewan, Canada, as well as a case study for the United Cities and Local Government's Committee on Social Inclusion, Participatory Democracy and Human Rights titled 'The Community Pulse - measuring what matters'.

1. The Peacekeepers Circle met twice a week at Albert School, supported by Hirsch Greenberg at the Human Justice Faculty of the University of Regina and the Regina Alternative Measures Program. My involvement was at his invitation, seeing opportunity for creative engagement as an additional opportunity for collaborative expression and skill development for young people.
