American Public Health Association—Public Health Nursing Section
The American Public Health Association—Public Health Nursing Section is a professional organization of nursing practitioners and educators who maintain the highest standards of public health nursing through nursing practice, education, and research. In response to the 1995 report of the Institute of Medicine Committee on Enhancing Environmental Health Content in Nursing Practice, the Public Health Nursing Section established an Environmental Health Task Force made up of nurses and environmental health practitioners. This group developed and published a series of environmental health principles for public health nurses and environmental health recommendations for public health nursing in practice, education, research, and advocacy. Their ongoing work is a huge resource for nurses, doctors, environmental health practitioners, and the general public.
