Concept Development and Methodology

To develop an enduring concept of integrated township planning, demographic and socioeconomic analysis has been carried out to predict the demand for necessary physical infrastructure and, accordingly, the provision of public services. Diverse population characteristics (Bauer 2009), such as the population distribution by sex and age range, have an effect on employment composition. The total population of a proposed township is 12,500 people. Through a comparative assessment of population distribution by age group in urban areas, obtained from Census of India (the national commission on population) and United Nations (UN) data (United Nations 2014), assumptions have been considered for township planning. Table 4.2 describes the population distribution of defined age ranges to understand the possible distribution of educational and occupational characteristics. Furthermore, Table 4.3 describes the gender composition distribution of township populations.
