ABSTRACT

This study seeks to determine the role of data analysis and strategic vigilance in decision-making. Organizations are working hard to improve their performance and increase efficiency to keep in touch smoothly with the latest progress in the field of modem management, where strategic vigilance is one of its most important methods. It brings the organization closer to its environment, makes it known, and help in analyzing big data. In this regard, vigilance plays an effective role in providing the necessary information in many aspects of what affects the organization’s competition. Therefore, it helps managers formulate strategies that help them make different decisions that lead to achievement.

10.1 INTRODUCTION

The world has recently suffered from many changes and disorders that have resulted from the opening up of local markets, the increase in the volume of big data, and the difficulty of analyzing them, which made organizations live in a highly uncertain environment. This has affected organizations’ ability to make decisions, especially strategic ones, due to the large amount of complex information that characterizes the organization’s internal or external environment.

The decision-making process requires comprehensive and diverse information to analyze and translate to take profit from them. This can only be achieved if the organization has an important tool: strategic vigilance, which is characterized by its ability to provide accurate and new information in order to cany out what is happening in the external environment and enable it to detect opportunities and threats.

In addition to good knowledge of the internal environment, strategic vigilance is an important way to support information sources and improve competitiveness; therefore, the following problem may be raised:

How can big data analysis and strategic vigilance which plays a role in

the decision-making process within an organization?

In addition, we can ask the following sub-questions:

  • • What are the components of str ategic vigilance and big data?
  • • What are the most important stages of the decision-making process?
  • • What is the prominent role of data analysis and strategic vigilance in decision-making?

In this context, the following hypotheses have been formulated:

У HI: Big data Analysis is a reason for the successful decision-making process.

У H2: Strategic vigilance information does not contribute significantly to decision-making.

We have adopted the descriptive-analytical approach, which will help us describe and analyze all the information and data related to the study.

The rest of this chapter is organized as follows. In order to build a vision that helps us to answer the raised problem, we have divided the research into three axes: the first axis includes the components of strategic vigilance and big data; the second axis, the stages of the decision-making process; and the thud one, the prominent role of analysis of big data and the strategic vigilance in decision making.
